The Father of Modern Democracy

We in the U.S. seem to think that our history has been going on forever. But the mere 240 years is just a blip on the radar screen of the earth compared to that of Europe and much of the rest of the world. So, when I say Thomas Jefferson is the father of modern democracy I do mean “modern”. I took a lot of pictures of his monument while I was in Washington DC, but this little “sneak pic” is perhaps my favorite.
